The following is a basic lotion recipe that’s healthy for your skin, but it’s just a beginning. Our bodies are unique and are always changing with time and the environment. In future posts you are going to learn what ingredients to add to your unique creams and lotions that have specific curative properties.
Lavender Lotion Recipe:
1/4 cup sweet almond oil – if you are sensitive to almond oil, olive oil may be used.
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon cocoa butter
1 teaspoon beeswax
1 teaspoon aloe Vera gel
½ teaspoon glycerin
¼ cup distilled water
8 drops lavender essential oil
Add cocoa butter to 1 cup microwavable glass container and melt in microwave for 20 seconds (continue at 10 second intervals until cocoa butter is melted. Blend in almond oil, beeswax and coconut oil. Set aside to cool. In a separate bowl, mix together water, aloe Vera and glycerin. Slowly add the oil mixture a small amount at a time into the water mixture as you whisk. Once mixed, add the lavender oil and pour into 8 ounce pump container or clean lotion container. Your lotion is ready to use.

We use lavender essential oil in this lotion recipe because of how it benefits the skin and the fact that it is good for all skin types. We also love the fragrance. You can opt to use mica colorants for your lotion recipe and give it a lavender color as well. Enjoy!
