Honey Cleanser
Strictly speaking, this can’t be classed among homemade acne treatments since the bees have done all the work for you. Maybe we should call it hivemade acne treatment. What do you think?
- Wet hands using warm water.
- Pour small amount of raw honey in hands
- Cleanse face then rinse with warm (not hot) water.
- Pat dry.
Honey Mask Treatment
- Spread a thin layer of raw honey over your face for about 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
- Pat dry
Honey has been used since the beginning of recorded history for skin care. It’s benefits are many including antibacterial, moisturizing and healing. This is my top recommendation.
Cucumber Mask Treatment
1 Cucumber
1 teaspoon Jojoba oil
- Blend cucumber and oil together in blender. Smooth on face and leave for 15 minutes.
- Rinse with warm water.
- Pat dry
Sea Salt Cleanser (Do not use if you have open sores)
- Use fine grain Dead Sea Salt, Celtic salt, or Himalayan salt
- Gently cleanse skin (no hard rubbing please)
- Rinse with warm water
- Pat dry
- Add moisturizer such as jojoba oil
Note: I might mention that in one study by the Department of Dermatology, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, NSW, test subjects treated with a 5% gel solution of tea-tree oil showed the same improvement in acne lesions as those treated with 5% benzoyl peroxide with fewer side effects. However, the tea-tree oil was slower to react. There, see how using homemade acne treatments can be as good or better than over the counter treatments with attached side effects.
